GENEVA, october 2025.
In just ten days, four volunteer doctors restored sight to more than 830 people in Mozambique. In dilapidated hospitals,
amidst endless queues and the repetition of surgical gestures, this medical campaign transformed lives.

Cataracte bears witness to this. Denis Ponté's photographs, heirs to a humanist documentary tradition, capture waiting, light,
and faces with moving restraint. Philippe Constantin's texts, poetic and meditative, explore vision, clarity, and darkness,
linking the individual experience to a universal reflection on the human condition.

With forewords by Dr Raphaël Pitti, Thierry Apothéloz et Alfonso Gomez, Cataracte is both an artistic work and
a humanitarian plea. It celebrates the resilience of patients, the dedication of caregivers, and the strength of international solidarity.
